- Comments: "This flycatcher was overall smaller, duller, and grayer than a “Pacific-slope” Western Flycatcher; gray on breast and down the sides creating a "vest." It had a "big-headed" look with a small, mostly all-dark bill and a white, somewhat oval eye ring. The primary feathers were longer than expected for a Pacific-slope Flycatcher. It had two pale wingbars.--- Observed along the upper third of the paved road in an oak tree off the road."

- Comments: "Adult breeding. Yellow into face, throat, chest, undertail. Some rufous streaks on upper chest flanks, streaks mostly brown, green tones to otherwise brown primaries, whitish belly. Calling from large mixed warbler flock, then seen. Didn’t see tail bob, but may have simply missed it."
