Subject: [labird] Cameron shrimpers and LNG plants
I had a recent bird conversation on the topic of LNG facilities in Cameron
parish and their possible effect on seabird numbers along the coast. After
a quick search I found many articles regarding the problems shrimp
fishermen are having since the construction of LNG plants. Shrimp are a
very important factor in many ways regarding the numbers of birds along the
coast. One article summed up the situation nicely and the plans for the
next huge LNG facility planned at the mouth of the Calcasieu River in
Cameron. This is a link to the story.
