The City Nature Challenge is an international effort to take a global snapshot of biodiversity April 24-27. All taxa are welcome. If you have an iNaturalist account, you are invited to contribute to the City Nature Challenge efforts in South Dakota by making observations in Brookings County <https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/city-nature-challenge-2026-brookings-county-south-dakota> or Central South Dakota <https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/city-nature-challenge-2026-pierre-fort-pierre>. Note that any observation made between Apr 24-27 and uploaded by May 10 in the designated counties will automatically be added to the City Nature Challenge. If you will not be in those areas during this time but want your observations to be added to the City Nature Challenge, you can join the Global Project <https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/city-nature-challenge-2026-global-project> .
