I’ve seen a few pockets of them here and there. But I’ve also been wondering! I saw a little flock at Lake MacBride (North Liberty) on Sunday. This morning I was hearing them call in my neighborhood on the northside of Iowa City, so I expected to see them in Hickory Hill Park, a five minute drive/fifteen minute walk away. But when I got to Hickory Hill, I never heard or saw a single one in the 90 minutes I spent there. I was quite surprised! Most of the trees in Hickory Hill are not really leafed out yet, though. I expect they will come with the leaves.
