This looks like a standard band, which, if you can read it can be submitted and info on the bird supplied to you . We were able to read a band on a peli during a bird survey and were able to learn that it had been starving and rehabbed and released by International Bird Rescue. For FWS aluminum bands you can submit the band number , band location on which leg, and location where seen and report to www.reportband.gov. They are very pleased to get information on the bird and give you a certificate of appreciation for your help.

Subject: [Mendobirds] Tagged Brown Pelican?
I took a photo of a Brown Pelican in flight that seems to be tagged/banded. (Unfortunately no detail on band.)
Is this normal or is this something else?
Also - when I post a "New Topic", why doesn't this create a new thread? It seems all of my posts to this group end up as email only topics.
