Subject: [CT Birds] Osprey Nesting
As testimony to the success of Osprey nesting platform programs by Terry Shaw and others along the coast, another far inland and away from major rivers Osprey nest site has been established at Flanders Nature Center Van Vleck Preserve in Woodbury. Dramatic population increases and competition for prime coastal sites may be a factor in such inland nesting efforts, which were apparently never common in Connecticut. We are hoping to confirm nesting success this season.
