On Wednesday, 15 April, I stumbled upon two Fish Crows in the Fairbury city park. This would be a 2nd state record and the first with audio and photos. Since the initial sighting there have been additional sighting as birders have gone down to tick the species. Michael Willison observed an additional Fish Crow (three total) late afternoon yesterday and also observed apparent nest building (see his checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S322669606). With this in mind, I would echo Tobin Brown's comments (see ebird.org/checklist/S322593634) to "please be respectful of their nesting efforts, give them space, and do not use playback". This seems like the ethical approach. The birds are clearly tied to the area and will be sticking around. Thus, pretty much everyone who wants to observe the birds should have the opportunity.
