The Sunday morning bird walk produced 41 species at Ft. Harrison State Park, Indianapolis, on April 12th. The highlight of the walk was a male Ruby-crowned Kinglet that stayed below eye level for several minutes as we watched just feet away. The bird obliged us with calls and song while it foraged. Only a few other highlights that included a total of 13 cormorants migrating overhead, a Sharp-shinned Hawk, 2 Pied-billed Grebes, 2 Yellow-throated Warblers, and 2 Louisiana Waterthrushes. The complete list is below.
There will be a bird walk each Sunday morning in April and May at Ft. Harrison. Meet at 8am in the NE corner of Delaware Lake parking lot.
