Subject: [ia-bird] Chickadee numbers
We've had three or four Black-capped Chickadees visiting our feeders pretty much all year around since 1988, especially in the winter.  But since September 2025, we've only seen one Chickadee at a time, and that one has only appeared four or five times, total, in the past six months.  We were already wondering why, so it is concerning to find out that some others in Iowa are also seeing fewer chickadees.  Russell Benedict is right -- they are not only adorable but are great ambassadors for all birds.  We miss them.  Cindy
