The most numerous Purple Finches we have had at our yard. Probably 6 to8, seen at 6:30 AM until feeder is removed at 9:30. We have to take the hanging feeder down by 9:30 so bears don't take it down, which they have already done once this year when we left it out too long. Males and females finches eating sunflower seeds. They usually stay only a day or two and then I assume they journey north. Susanne Shrader West Hartford
