Hi everyone,
Quick outreach update for the Schenectady Green Market. We are putting a few dates on the calendar to get back in the swing of things heading into Spring - We just got confirmation yesterday that there’s room for us this Sunday 4/12, so we grabbed a last minute spot. We have one other member helping out at this time and could use a few more if anyone has an hour or two. Setup is 9 to 10am and we usually meet at the Greenmarket booth in front of Pizza King to find our assigned location. It’s a simple setup, the tent is doable with one person but two makes it smoother, then just a fold up table and tablecloth. No chairs provided so bring your own seat. We’ll have brochures, trail cards, stickers, and a few visuals like the Reist Sanctuary poster and some small posters for eBird and Merlin. It’s really just about chatting with people and sharing what you enjoy about birding.
The market runs through 2pm so you can still make it home for the start of the final round of the Masters if that’s your thing. Plan for cooler weather and a bit of wind. If you’re out birding Sunday morning, consider swinging by after and helping us hold it down for a bit. Even an hour helps. If you’re interested, just reply here. It’s a relaxed setup, mostly greeting people and talking a little birding. We know this came together last minute, but we are also confirmed for Sunday 5/17 with more notice.

Save the date: Saturday, June 13, 2026. We’ll also be tabling at Five Rivers for the annual Get Outdoors & Get Together Day, a statewide event hosted at DEC sites and State Parks that brings people of all ages and abilities outside for fun, accessible activities.
