Subject: [sd-birds] Wessington Hills
Yesterday I was exploring the wessington Hills. South of wessington springs
near Kraft lake I saw about 20 prairie chickens. The lakes most abundant
duck was ruddy ducks.

Next I was a bit south of wessington and scared up 4 chickens.

They could have been sharp tailed I suppose. But it was open grassland.

All the sandhill cranes near 214th were high in the air. I wonder if they
left.

Saw a red tailed carrying what I think was a snake.

Smallish shorebirds in cropland. Maybe Bairds per talking to Ricky Olson.
