More than likely I am not the only one that has been eagerly awaiting April's Spring arrivals.
To date the most noticeable number of migrants here in our Morro Bay yard has been the growing number of Oriole's. Two species have arrived in good numbers with at least 8 Hooded Orioles briefly perching on a leafless maple before moving on in a flock. 2 HOOR, adult male and female had been seen during March and continue.
A small group of Bullock's Orioles were seen while perching on the wires. The BUOR group had 2 young male and 1 female type, always fun to sort out age and sex at this time.
The Harris's Sparrow returned to our yard after last being seeing here on March 10. When it hadn't returned in March I had believed and posted that it had more than likely moved on. Very surprised and pleased to witness it's return on April 2. It was still visiting our yard today, Thursday April 5.
As expected White-crowned and Golden-crowned numbers continue to decline .
Hummmm .... Wonder who will be next to pass through? 😎
