Subject: [NEBirds] whoopers and bluebirds
Three college buddies and I from Kearney State are going to be looking for whooping cranes next week, driving from G.I. to Kearney, mostly on the south side of the Platte.  Any advice?
Yesterday I checked about 20 bluebird boxes, mostly on Fort Niobrara NWR.  Four had eggs: 6, 5, 4 and 2.  So two clutches are probably already being incubated.  Thinking this is a little early but I understand temps were quite warm a few weeks ago.  Below freezing tonight.
