Subject: [CT Birds] Purple Martin New Preston, CT
The first ASY male or scout was observed flying overhead around 10:00 am
this morning at the Lake Waramaug Country Club Golf Course. Ironically
Marvelwood School's Avian Ambassadors Community Service team was erecting
a new gourd rack to replace the outdated housing when fellow faculty member
Caleb May asked, "Is that a Purple Martin circling above us with a few Tree
Swallows?"

I heard from another person on Jennings Road in Kent that they had about
five martins circling above them when they were putting their gourds up
this afternoon.

About a week early for the northwest corner of the state.
