Subject: [sd-birds] LTDU and More Spring Migrants

The weather was so nice on Sunday and Monday, that I had to take
advantage of that by birding both mornings. At the Fort Randall Dam
yesterday, I saw some distant ducks in the South Shore area. When I got
my scope on them, I saw that there were 21 Long-tailed Ducks. I don't
often see that many and I don't usually see them so late, so that was
fun! There were a couple of Common Loons in the bay near the Randall
Creek Recreational Area at the dam.

Spring migrants have been showing up every day. I saw eight FOYs
{first-of-year} birds:

* Pied-billed Grebe
* Franklin's Gull
* Chipping Sparrow
* Tree Swallow
* Eastern Phoebe
* Common Loons
* Horned Grebe
* Great Horned Owl
