Visitors: Tom Filip visited on his day off to witness the 200th Golden Eagle.
Weather: Wind SSW mostly 4-8 mph and partly cloudy in a.m., becoming SW 10-15 mph and cloudy in the p.m. It was the SSW winds that were productive, any flight largely ended when wind switched to SW. Without thermals, SW wind is usually unproductive.
Raptor Observations: GE(Ad): 959, 1104. This is the 7th year of 26 that the Golden Eagle count has reached 200 and the first such year since 2015. This has usually happened when there has been a cold and snowy period during the winter, which happened this past winter.
