Good morning everyone! Sorry for the late post, but on Saturday, I stopped
at Braswell Church Road (Walton County) to try my luck at birding. Along
with the usual curious cows wondering what I was doing, I did rather well
in the plover department.
In the second cow field on the eastern side of the road, along with
Killdeer, I discovered an AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER, a lifer for me and my
291st Georgia bird. It was one of those sightings where I knew right away
what it was but was still in disbelief. I saw reports of the AMGP still
being there on Sunday, so hopefully it will be there still if anyone else
wants to try finding it.
For anyone craving doves and pigeons and cowbirds, this road is for you as
well.
A golden-plover beats a four-leaved clover!
