Muddy paw marks on kitchen door and wall where a feeder had been hanging, leaving only tantalizing aroma of peanuts and safflower. Moral: hungry bears do not mind rain! Birds in a feeding frenzy today - must be expecting snow. Female pileated woodpecker very vocal, flying back and forth; and a pair of wood ducks is on my swollen stream! All’s well here!
