Subject: [ia-bird] Spring Migration
I have always noticed that wild weather swings often give us an opportunity to witness usual birding events. I too had more fox sparrows than usual along with dozens of Juncos. It gives us hope that spring is not far off. To watch fox sparrows scratch with both feet at once is wonderful. I often think of the snow and ice on May 3rd of 2013 and warblers on the snow in breeding plumage. Carl Kurtz-Marshall County.
