Subject: [CT Birds] Coastal Center
3/18 overcast, turning sunny, 30-35F, mid tide-rising.
Very busy at the coastal center today with school visits, and several
photographers and regular visitors.
On the marsh: An osprey flew over heading west, 1 Northern harrier, 6
Bufflehead, 10 American Black ducks, about 40 Canada Geese, 2 Mute swans,
4 Red breasted mergansers, 2 Greater Black backed gulls sitting on a
mud-flat, 1 Common Loon, 25 Greater scaup, 2 Gadwall.
On the grounds & feeders: 2 American robins, 6 Cardinals (4 male, 2
female), 2 Tufted titmice, 21 House sparrows, 3 Song sparrows, 4 House
finches, 1 Downy woodpecker, 5 Common Grackles, 2 Red winged blackbirds, 2
American crows, 6 Mourning doves.
