Friends, I have been reluctant to post this because I thought it was so transitory, but we've had a black-headed grosbeak for about a month. He comes sporadically, but usually we see him in the mornings about breakfast and shortly before lunch. I am pretty sure he is elsewhere in the neighborhood (University Acres of Baton Rouge, about a mile south of LSU) because he's showed up on Merlin during our walks. As far as I can tell he is all by himself.
If anyone wants to try to sit on our back porch and see him please contact me off-list. Thanks,Michael Cavanaugh

I apologize for posting this admittedly commercial message. I have nointerest in this and make no commission from any sales. However, I postthis just to let people know of a good deal on spotting scopes. I own oneof these, and I am quite satisfied with it. I also know a good friend andprominent Louisiana ornithologist who likes his purchase. And Vortex has avery good service guarantee.Anyway, here it is https://www.midwayusa.com/product/2420626118 Mac Myers <https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=webmail>Virus-free.www.avast.com<https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=webmail><#DAB4FAD8-2DD7-40BB-A1B8-4E2AA1F9FDF2>   Â
