Snow, a thirty degree drop in temperature and wind gusts well above 30 mph. The best four letter word that comes to mind is YUCK!
That said, two other four letter things come to mind: FISP and CHSP. The FOS Field Sparrow showed near the brush pile, chowing down on seeds on the ground along with White-throated Sparrows, Dark-eyed Juncos and House Sparrows. Then later, a Chipping Sparrow popped onto the small platform feeder at the window and fed off and on there and at the suet until dark. I have no doubt it is one that summers here and knew well that food was waiting on that feeder.
Spring(?) in Missouri is never boring.
