Subject: [CT Birds] Hutton Rd, Somers
Drove Hutton Rd yesterday in Somers. No rarities spotted, but several "flocks" in the melting fields:   40 Horned Larks, 45 American Crows, 200+ Red-winged Blackbirds mostly males flashing their red. A few Grackles and Brown-headed Cowbirds mixed in. 300+ Canada Geese, amazing how they know precisely when to return when the water is open and the grass is exposed.Today, 1/2 mile away in my back yard, more blackbirds including 2 Rusty Blackbirds, seen and heard.Jan Collins in Spring-like Somers!
