I won’t be breaking records here! I am missing Cackling Goose, Ross's, Lapland
Longspur….. Except for the LT Ducks, no winter waterfowl rarities! But it’s fun.
I am surprised no winter waterfowl rarities.
I hope to explore the Great Miami area here a lot. There’s not the public access like
In Butler and Montgomery counties. But still lots of areas for sky watching. Lost
Bridge, Fernald, etc. The Little Miami will have me exploring for passerines. But there
Is overlap. Armleder, Magrish, etc. Bortz.
I hit the Fernald Woodcock walk with Luke last night. Wow! I was expecting a few peents.
He had a spot picked out where we could see them displaying and on the ground! It
Was fantastic.
Of course I missed the American bittern in flight…… that was before the walk. You never
Know what will be around there! See the second paragraph above!
Nature notes - spring peepers were loud! And frogs and toads were crossing the road.
Be careful driving!
Good birding all.
