This morning I took a hike in Hell Canyon, Custer County (ebird checklist https://ebird.org/checklist/S305957117). A pair of Common Ravens were putting on quite a show. At the height of the entertainment, one bird flew around with a stick while the other bird called incessantly. The bird with the stick disappeared for less than a minute, and when it reappeared, it did not have the stick. So either it dropped the stick, or put it on a nest nearby. This was about 3/4 of a mile from the trailhead, not particularly close to either of their nest sites from the past two years.
Townsend's Solitaires and Canyon Wrens were singing a lot. But otherwise, no signs of other nesting.
