Good morning KSBIRDers!

On January 17th a Crested Caracara was seen and photographed east of
Winfield in Cowley County. Over the weekend I received cell phone video of
a Crested Caracara just west/southwest of Independence in Mongomery
County. This morning I received a photo of a Crested Caracara that was
seen/photographed by a farmer near the Hamm Landfill in Jefferson County
on Monday. It would be very difficult to determine if they are the same bird.
HOWEVER, they are all proof that there could be a Crested Caracara(s)
nearly anywhere in the state at this time.

The last two birds were essentially seen by non-birders and therefore haven't
shown up on eBird. But I've seen the photos and they are both Crested
Caracaras!

Good luck!!

Chuck
