Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] Black-and-white Warbler at San Elijo
I just found a Black-and-White Warbler on the nature center trail, behind the Water Means Life sign, where the American Bittern was seen. It appeared to be a male, and it was working the willows just above the brackish water. Maddeningly, fighting Mallards spooked it deeper into the swampy interior before I could photograph it. Our SD Bird Festival group did not come over here today, but perhaps we can stop here tomorrow.

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://sandiegofieldornithologists.org/san-diego-county-avian-records-database/.
