Hello all -
This morning, I took this photo of 7 ducks on the Mohawk River, fairly far east of the Cohoes Falls, seen from the small park behind the warehouse apartments to the right of the falls viewing area. Might the 6 dark birds be Black Scoters or American Black Ducks or something else? The 7th bird is much lighter with its back to us. The face pattern of the upper right-most duck matches a female Black Scoter pretty well, but book drawings (Peterson) don't show the white patches on the backs of the 6 dark ducks. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
