Subject: [AZNMbirds] Lewis Woodpecker, Steller's Jay - Pantano Riverwalk
This afternoon we went to Fort Lowell Park as per usual, enjoying a group
of green-winged teal on the pond, along with the redhead, ring-necked
ducks, and of course the wigeons and mallards.

After the walk, we drove to the Pantano Wash/Riverwalk, and we were pleased
to see a Lewis' Woodpecker on the snag at the south end of the parking area
near the phone poles. It sallied out and back a few times, and the pink
breast was beautiful in the evening light. While watching that, a
Steller's Jay was "lurking" in the scrub also on the south side of the
parking area. We drove around the East Lawn Palms Cemetery after that, but
only the usual suspects there, including Lark Sparrows.

At home, we were able to add Prairie Falcon to our yard list - seen on
Saturday.

Happy Birding!
