Hi everyone, I'm volunteering as a reviewer for the California Bird Atlas and I'm wondering if anyone has a copy of the Alameda Breeding Bird Atlas that they'd be willing to sell. It's hard to track down! Please email me off list.
Also for the past week or so there has been a Palm Warbler in my neighborhood at 17th Street and Mandela Parkway in Oakland. It moves around a LOT. The first time I saw it I got a bad look and it flew north, but this past Friday and yesterday I got excellent looks. It spends a good amount of time on the ground, but flits around constantly.
Also, iff you're birding near the shoreline, please pay attention to White-crowned Sparrows. Our resident birds close to the bay are early nesters, typically starting in March, but I found a nest with eggs mid-February and another bird building nearby the same day.
