- Comments: "continuing female seen today. Susie Reddy spotted it on the outer bank of the Chorro Creek channel where it was resting next to Harbor Seals. This was a large cinnamon-brown duck with a distinctive shaped black bill that sloped up to form a short shield on the forehead and down to a thin bill tip. The head had a pale line going back from eye and down the side of the neck. Today saw the legs which were somewhat short and thick and appear gray-green colored in my photos."

Broad-billed Hummingbird (Cynanthus latirostris) (1)
- Reported Feb 22, 2026 11:15 by Nick & Jane
- Meadow Park--San Luis Obispo, San Luis Obispo, California
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&<q...>,-120.6606531&<ll...>,-120.6606531 - Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S303148017 - Comments: "This bird was reported to me by a homeowner adjacent to park who said he saw the bird yesterday in his yard. He hadn’t seen it in his yard today. While investigating west of that home I could hear soft kinglet-toned harsh call notes—less rapid and quieter than a kinglet’s typewriter pounding. I briefly saw the bird in a lemon tree (35.2673067, -120.6605747), noting the orange bill and flash of green-turquoise underside. I think it must have been calling from a bottlebrush next to the lemon tree but only saw it briefly amid the waxy lemon leaves. Couldn’t refind. First record at this hotspot. Will search again in the a.m. No pic."
