Yesterday we had our first killdeer in the field and several red-winged blackbirds at the feeders. On a more humorous note, a Canada goose tried to land on the pond which was still frozen with about an inch of water on top of the ice. He slid about 50 feet before finally stopping then got up, walked a few feet, and took off. Unharmed but a bit surprised it seemed. Doug Johnstone, Morgan Co.
