- Comments: "Frequent visitor throughout the days observations. Always seen in the company of Zonotirchias. Seen drinking from fountain, foraging for seed in area where seed is thrown and also leaf litter on garden edges."

Plumper than nearby White-crowned Sparrows; long tail; pink bill; buffy face and neck; finely streaked crown; white throat and breast with dark, blotchy streaks on and below the throat, in the middle of the breast and on the upper flanks; buff-colored belly; two narrow wing bars."

Been seeing this adult male on and off for quite a while. Flew into a pine north of playground buildings—actually a better note is the tall pine on the southern border of baseball field. Black-and-white plumage, black throat, yellow lores, white underside with thick black flank streaking. Double white wingbars. Poor photos"
