Subject: [CT Birds] One more Carolina sighting
My Carolina wren showed up again today, much relief - I say "my" as its behavior was in keeping - straight to the suet then peanut log.  Maybe they go into a deep torpor during the really cold times and reemerge when it hits 20?Again today, several grackles, red-winged blackbirds, cowbirds and starlings, aqain mostly males, but also: at least 1 female Bluebird, and 5 robins drinking in the stream (where it is open). Yea!
