Given the presence of White Wing Scoters for long periods of time this winter, both at Vacation Isle and the IB Pier (formerly), this likely won't generate much interest, but Thursday morning just after 9:00 a.m. there's a young White-winged quite a bit farther up a channel than normal away from the open water of San Diego Bay or the ocean; specifically, in the Sweetwater River tidal section over a mile Inland immediately downstream from the 2nd Avenue bridge, where one can park. This is right on the border of Chula Vista and National City. It is happily feeding in the area, but who knows how long it'll stay there before presumably returning some distance westward.....
