You might recall that I posted this mega rarity in mid December, 2025. I had given up all hope of it returning and much to my suprise it returned to our yard this morning, 6 ½ weeks later! I do keep a pretty close watch and I really wonder where it's been. Maybe in the area but just not stopping by here???
My sighting early this morning was extremely brief, getting only one photo of it flying away from the back electric wires. Good enough for an id but definitely not to pass around. I staked out the yard this afternoon with the hope of it returning. Patience paid off and it returned around 3:00 for a brief stop at our water feature.
