Subject: Re: [labird] Louisiana eBird trivia question
I have no idea what it is, but whatever it is will be a surprise to
me--given that it is from late April in Cameron. I would have thought that
an all time high would be of a blackbird, probably Red-winged and during
mid-winter, and not from a coastal or near-coastal site. I seem to recall
such counts in the hundreds of thousands or even millions, but maybe they
never made it into eBird. In fact, I definitely recall some controversial
control measures involving aerial spraying of detergents onto huge
Brown-headed Cowbird winter roosts.
