- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&<q...>,-120.8624411&<ll...>,-120.8624411 - Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S299775498 - Comments: "Subadult. Small to mid sized gull notably smaller than adjacent California Gulls. Gray upperparts with gray half hood, black bill, dark tail and primaries, whitish area surrounding eye, gray wash on sides and flanks, legs dark flesh colored. Loafing on sand and swimming in creek mouth. Flew briefly when flushed and settled down again. Distinguished from Franklin's by gray wash on sides, slightly larger bill proportionately more drooped at the tip, half hood medium gray similar in darkness to nape, no white visible on wing at rest, none on primaries in flight. Have photos but am on the road without a computer and BOC is broken, so they may not get posted for a week or more. Left the immediate vicinity of the creek a bit before 9 am, with many other gulls."
