Hello BR Audubon members and friends!
Have you ever encountered a snake while birding? Chances are you have, and it may make you a little nervous, especially if you have a hard time telling a venomous vs a non-venomous species.
Come join us at the BRAS February program as we welcome Kevin and Rachel Hood with LA Snake ID will help us learn about the snakes we can expect in our area. They will also dispel some myths and help us learn how to distinguish between the venomous and non-venomous species we might encounter. They will also be bringing live snakes for you to see and hold, if you wish! Bring the kids and grandkids and nieces and nephews. This is one for the whole family!
Feb 25, 2026 at the Main Goodwood library, Baton Rouge, room 101. Refreshments will be served from 6:30 - 7pm and the program will start at 7. The Hoods will be bringing merchandise to sell that benefits their snake conservation efforts, so keep that in mind!
