She was in the channel on an outgoing tide about midway between the two oyster farms. Unfortunately she took off to the south right as I noticed that it was the eider, but got a good look at her white underwing patches in flight."

Black-and-white Warbler (Mniotilta varia) (1)
- Reported Feb 10, 2026 08:46 by Nick & Jane
- Meadow Park--San Luis Obispo, San Luis Obispo, California

Continuing well-documented rarity. Eighth or so sighting this year? In sycamores in southeast area of park along man-made stream—next to fenceline. Close to Casa Diablo—just east. Junco bully chased her into tree across stream. Pale throat, black spots on white undertail coverts. Sleek and trim black-and-white plumaged warbler nuthatching for buggaroos. Poor photo."
