Subject: [CT Birds] Re: Southbury Barred Owl and Golden-crowned kinglet
This is typically when a bird of prey haunches over with its wings outpread over some prey most typically to protect it until they consume it. I've yet to go on my front yard but I'm hoping to see an impression of the wings in the snow. I've seen it with Cooper's Hawk's and Red tails before.
