Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] How do you find the SOSA at San Dieguito Sports Field and Riparian?
Hi everyone,

I tried going to the San Dieguito Sports Field and Riparian for the
Solitary Sandpiper but the gate to the sports field was locked. I didn't
want to be looking for it at the edge of a busy road, so I am trying to
figure out how other birders have seen the sandpiper. I was at the
entrance across from the Del Mar Horsepark on El Camino Real. Is there
another entrance into the sports field I am unaware of? Or did everyone
just stand in the grass at the edge of Via De La Valle looking in?

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://sandiegofieldornithologists.org/san-diego-county-avian-records-database/.
