Observed flying away at 45° angle. Identified by lack of neck, and shape and position of bill. Why would any offshore area in Southern California have a 0 filter for Cassin's Auklet at any time of year?"

- Comments: "Sulid, dark brown above and white below, head and hindneck yellowish beige with fine streaking, creating a "wet" look. Scalloped pale edging to upper inner wing coverts. Pale brown tail and rump, separated by white "horseshoe." Blue legs and feet diagnostic."
