Subject: Sparrows etc. Koch property Northampton County
Savannah and field sparrows have joined the other six sparrow species l previously reported. The reason I’m seeing them is because David plowed out an area off the front porch onto which we’re throwing white millet and cracked corn. We grow our own field corn here on the farm and David grinds it in the barn. If we had to buy it there’d not be any out there. Today an eastern towhee also joined the sparrows and the black oil sunflower feeders and suet cakes are busy with the species you’d expect. All the fields here in this valley are covered with a foot of snow that’s frosted on top and even deer are having trouble traversing them
