Monday morning around 9:00 a.m. I had a female- plumaged Hepatic Tanager at the very north end of Cleator Park which is at the base of Point Loma and only a few blocks from Famosa Slough. This is bordering the YMCA building and a church next door. What is particularly attractive here in late fall and winter is a line of pink flowered eucalyptus on the west side of the church. Every winter there are a couple tanagers and orioles here, and earlier this winter I had a splotchy male Summer Tanager here, which presumably is still floating around the area. The Hepatic was at the south end of those pink-flowered eucs.
In other news, the Tropical Kingbird continues at Robb Field, no surprise.
