Quickly found it here (35.0706343, -120.5774007) on the lagoon behind the gym, standing among the Lily pads. Coot shaped but smaller with dark grey body, red bill with yellow tip, brown wings."

Found by KH years ago. Does it ever leave? In usual pond foraging with nearby coots. Gun-metal grey chickeny wetland bird with yellow-tipped red bill, white undertail, white flank stripe. Photos."

Bird was feeding in the channel near buoy 6. Pictures taken."

Our exact initial reaction was: “why does this SAVS have such a massive bill?” Much larger bill than other nearby SAVS, paler and less distinct streaking, no visible yellow in lores."

I've added this bird a couple of times and keep getting an error message). Anyway, continuing immature male with black throat, pale wingbars, green upperparts, yellowy lowerparts. Much smaller than a hooded oriole. Seen along northwest side of lake where boardwalk ends. No photo"
