Subject: Long-tailed Duck, Milford Lake
Decided to bust out of the driveway so put the Jeep in 4-wheel drive and took
a trip over Milford Lake Dam (Geary County) this morning. There were the
expected Canada Geese, Mallards and Common Goldeneyes. 3 American
White Pelicans had been chased to the main body of the lake due to icing
conditions. The highlight was a single Long-tailed Duck towards the south
end of the dam. I expect to see one or two here every winter, but always nice
to see!
