Hi Everyone!
This morning Edward, Peg and Bill Albrets and I led a SCVBA field trip to Los Capitancillos! Favorite moments included the fighting male *Buffleheads*; their dispute went on for quite some time. We also enjoyed watching the flock of *Common Mergansers *fly from one pond to another. Their shape and wing-patterns made for a beautiful sight. Towards the end of the trip we observed an *Anna's** Hummingbird* building her nest in a Western Sycamore. She brought in a small feather for the inside of her nest and some additional lichen for the outside. The *Spotted Sandpiper *was also fun with its bobbing walk and fluttery flight low across the water. And a *Green Heron* was special for our attendee all the way from British Columbia.
