Subject: [Mendobirds] Phainopepla
At 1:40 today, I stopped at the Ruddick Ranch and saw the male Phainopepla on River Road. Also present were the Lewis's Woodpeckers.

The Phainopepla was low down in the middle of the tree just above the trunk, and it let me get very close before flying. The Lewis's WPs were constantly flying in and out of the tree from about 50 yards away. They came and went about 3-4 times while I was there for 10 minutes.

The tree definitely has a bountiful food supply of mistletoe, so maybe it will hang around for a while.
